North Carolina State University - BS, Chemical Engineering

I believe that one of my best skills as a tutor is recognizing that not everyone has a natural mathematical ability. I was not born with special skills that allowed me to do well in math, I had to work to learn the concepts. I know from firsthand experience that if a student has enough determination and is willing to put the time into the subject, they can become proficient. I earned my Bachelor of Science in 2003 at North Carolina State University in Chemical Engineering. I have since been tutoring several courses in Science and Math. Some of the topics that I have tutored, include Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, and Physics. I have found that guided practice is the most effective approach to teaching in these subjects. I prefer to show my students the real applications of the concepts that they are learning because it allows them to make a connection to the material and to develop a better understanding. During my free time, I enjoy health and fitness, reading, and daydreaming.
